Please read this privacy policy with care. It contains information on how and why your data is collected, stored, used, and shared by us. It also defines who we are, your data rights, and how to make a complaint, should you have one.

Who we are

We are “The Foraging Course Company Ltd” (“we” or “us”) a registered company in England and Wales under company number 11596837. Our registered office is The Hall, Priory Hill, Rugby Road, Wolston, Coventry, CV8 3FZ. 

This policy is in regards to information collected by The Foraging Course Company specifically, which may be done so via third party sites such as Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, Skiddle, Eventbrite, LineUp, MailChimp, WordPress, Blogger, Wix or other as specified. Responsibility for information collected and used by those third party sites lies with those parties/sites through their specific policies.

We are regulated by the General Data Protection Regulation when collecting information, and responsible for that information as a “controller” for the purpose of GDPR.

Customers

Customers are those who book courses via third party websites and information is passed on to or collected by us. Information collected on customers is specifically email addresses, postal addresses and telephone numbers.

No financial data is collected. No data is passed on from us or sold by us.

Third party sites

Third party sites are used to enable customers to subscribe to emails or book courses. These sites have their own privacy policies.

 

Booking a course

All course bookings are done via third party sites. Collection of financial data is done by those sites and not by us.

 

Security of information

No method of information transfer is completely secure. No information is stored specifically by us. Instead, it is stored on third party sites used for booking courses or subscribing to marketing emails. These sites include: MailChimp, Ticket Tailor, LineUp, Skiddle, and Eventbrite. These are reputable sites with their own privacy policies in place.

Marketing email

By buying a ticket or booking a place on a course with a voucher, contact details will be automatically added to our digital mailing list (name and email address only). This is done in order to send information and instructions about the course booked on to - including meet up location, what to bring, and post-course notes. This will automatically subscribe bookers to our general mailing list. Bookers who do not wish to remain on the general mailing list, can unsubscribe using the link in the footer of the email once course notes have been received

Information email

You will receive essential information about attending your courses via email or telephone ahead of your booked course date. This will include meeting location, time, and other relevant information or advice. You will also receive one email after your course containing notes on the course content. Unless specifically requested by you, you will not receive any more emails unless you have booked another course, in which case you will receive pre- and post-course information.

Cookies Policy

Cookies are text files that enable websites to remember you when you return. On our site, we use Cookies only for enhancing your experiences when you return to the site and for analysing the behaviour of web traffic. Cookies may be used by the third party sites used to take bookings. Please refer to those sites for their specific Cookie Policies.

Temperature readings as a Covid-secure measurement

Temperature readings taken during courses in order to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission will not be recorded. Readings are taken to ensure safety of others on the course or as required by law, venue owners/managers, or other parties involved in the running of our courses.

NHS Test and Trace

Should we be contacted by NHS Test and Trace following the positive testing of a participant on one of our courses, we will pass on contact details of those who made the reservation/group leader. This will include full name, telephone number and email address. Please refer to the NHS privacy policy regarding how they hande data after this point.
